Interactive tools using real ephemeris data

I build interactive, scientifically accurate space and astronomy visualization tools using real ephemeris data from NASA's JPL Horizons platform. What started in 2013 as a 2D animation for India's Mars Orbiter Mission has evolved into a unified portal covering 40+ international lunar missions including NASA's Artemis II, ISRO's Chandrayaan missions, and the Apollo heritage flights. More recently, I have built tools for satellite conjunction analysis and planetary alignment visualization. All source code is on GitHub under the MIT license.

Artemis II

Real-time 3D visualization of NASA's Artemis II lunar flyby. Track flyby events, eclipse, closest approach, and predicted Earthrise/Earthset views from the crew's perspective.

Lunar Missions Portal

Unified visualization platform for 40+ international lunar missions. 2D and 3D rendering, multiple reference frames, engine burns, timeline scrubbing, and a "Joy Ride" co-orbital flight mode.

SatToSat

Satellite orbit visualization and conjunction analysis. Find close approaches between any two satellites with 100ms precision; automatic TLE fetching from Celestrak.

Planet Parade

Interactive planetary alignment analyzer. Find the best dates to see multiple planets at once and explore the sky with 3D solar system, alignment timeline, and stereographic sky charts.

Chandrayaan-3

ISRO's third lunar mission — successful soft landing on 23 August 2023. Includes the original 2023 animation and the unified portal view.

Mission Design Tool

Interactive 3D educational tool for orbital mechanics through Chandrayaan-3's mission design. Three modes: Explore, Plan, and Game. Built with Three.js and astronomy-engine.

Chandrayaan-2

ISRO's second lunar mission — orbiter still operational; the Vikram lander crashed on 6 September 2019. The crash-site analysis was widely shared on Reddit and covered in The Wire.

Mars Orbiter Mission

The 2013 animation that started it all. India's first interplanetary mission — fourth space agency to reach Mars orbit, first to do so on a maiden attempt.

New Horizons

NASA's Pluto flyby and Kuiper-belt mission. Animation of the 2015 Pluto encounter and the subsequent Arrokoth flyby.
